Reasons for Our Services
🛡️ Health and Safety
🐀 Reduction of Pests
Uncollected dog waste can attract anything from rodents and insects, increasing the risk of pest infestations. This can increase the risk of pest activity, such as flies, which lay up to 150 eggs at a time in uncollected fecal waste that can hatch in less than 3 days. While this may be seen as simple composting as they help break down the fecal matter, in about 10 more days, those likely will become flies themselves, which can quickly make your outdoors experience miserable.
🦠 Disease Transmission
Direct contact with contaminated soil or water can lead to infections, particularly in children or even your dogs who play outdoors. These range from bacterial infections such as E. Coli, Salmonella, or even Gastroenteritis, or dangerous viral risks such as the infamous Parvovirus. Let’s also not forget the number of parasites and worms that can also be transmitted to humans as well. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
🚶♂️ Slips and Falls
Feces left in the yard can create messy slipping hazards, potentially leading to injuries to you or others. Even if you are lucky and don’t slip, it is never pleasant to have to clean dog poo off your shoe.
🌍 Environmental Impact
🌱 Soil Degradation
Accumulated fecal waste can alter soil composition, especially over extended periods of time, negatively affecting plant health and growth. This can include grass, bushes, trees, and threaten garden growth too, present or future.
💧 Water Contamination
Rain can wash dog feces into storm drains, leading to the pollution of local waterways and posing risks to aquatic life, or impacting water supplies.
👃 General Smells
Feces left in the yard can create messy slipping hazards, potentially leading to injuries to you or others. Even if you are lucky and don’t slip, it is never pleasant to have to clean dog poo off your shoe.
♻️ Our Disposal Practices
🌱 Going Beyond the Bin
While other services may pick up dog waste, they often will simply drop it in your own trash, which may very well be in violation of your trash service agreement. We go the extra steps to safely remove fecal waste from your property, and dispose of it in a manner that meets or exceeds local environmental regulations.
